A weekend of sunshine is all you need to understand why San Diego is still bursting with energy amid COVID-19 health and safety restrictions. The temperate climate of Southern California provides the perfect environment for outdoor dining and activities while still staying safe and keeping your distance. Whether you are a local enjoying a staycation or visiting from out of town for a weekend away, there is still plenty to keep you busy!

Collaboration and creativity flow from the doors of local restaurants as outdoor dining takes over sidewalks, parking lots and city streets. Start the morning off right with a hearty breakfast at Hope 46 before you venture out into the city. If you're looking for some time to relax, head to one of our many amazing beaches and soak up the sun! Mission Beach and Pacific Beach are loud and lively, buzzing with millennials and families, while Coronado Beach and Sunset Cliffs offer more solace to calm your busy mind. Looking for a more active way to combat that food coma? Balboa Park's open space offers a leisurely stroll through nature, the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation for those looking for the best of both worlds. Within the park lies the San Diego Zoo, many of its open-air exhibits still open to a limited number of visitors per day. Be sure to purchase your discounted tickets at the front desk.

Cool off with a refreshing pint from the San Diego Taproom just 2 blocks down El Cajon. A plethora of outdoor seating, tons of local beer, and trivia on Tuesday nights makes Taproom the perfect evening hang out. Next door, Serpentine Cider features freshly brewed beverages, for those of you less keen on traditional beer and visiting on a weekend. Feeling a bit more adventurous? Explore North Park, where restaurants like Urbn Pizza, Shank and Bone, and Breakfast Republic are serving up delicious meals street-side.

Down here in San Diego the sunshine fuels creative solutions and community support, working together to create a safe environment while still living our best lives. So why not spend a weekend with us?
