When people mention The Lafayette Hotel, the first thing they think about is our pool... and why wouldn't they? This junior Olympic-sized beast is at the center of our hotel and our hearts, and it's been the home of countless memories for generations of San Diegans since 1946. Johnny Weissmuller designed it and Florence Chadwick, the first woman to swim the English Channel, swam in it. So I guess you could say history has been made here. You're up next.
This is our "VIP" section... if we didn't consider all of our guests VIPs. It's where bachelorette parties flourish and where birthdays bloom. This semi-private raised area is usually reserved for music performers but if you're quick enough, you can reserve it for your group and feel proud of yourself. Capacity: 30
This semi-circle of fun overlooks the historic pool and can be used for Sunday brunches, cocktail lounges, or even that midday dance break. Many a ceramonies have been held here and who says you need to get married to celebrate? Capacity: 50
This is the big boy... the behemoth. Renting the pool deck is a gesture saved for only the grandest of personalities. And trust us - it's worth it. Sure, the pool is a public area open to everyone but for the right price it can be all yours. Capacity: ~250
