This is cool, classy jazz music with a touch of pop. The kind of music you hear when you stop in at the lounge on the corner with the guys from work. Normandie is frequently compared to modern-day sirens (Becky Stark, Inara George, of Bird and the Bee) and vintage classics (Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick, Astrud Gilberto). Normandie's sound falls sweetly on the ears of fans of classic 60's pop, lounge, bossa nova, and modern jazz chanteuses like Melody Gardot, Norah Jones, and Diana Krall. "I always had a hard time singing loud, and that used to be a big problem for me. It wasn't until I heard singers like Dionne Warwick, Karen Carpenter, and Astrud Gilberto that I became comfortable with my own voice," she says. Normandie is thrilled to have a residency at the Lafayette. You can catch her every Wednesday and Thursday from 4-6pm in the lobby of the hotel during happy hour.
Normandie plays through Labor Day Weekend.

"Rip Carson formed his first band at the age of eleven in West Virginia. He was influenced by his uncle who also played in a rockabilly band known as "Bill Sykes and the Rhythmeers." This early influence and the fact that he has been singing since he was born have helped him be constantly on the rise in today's rockabilly scene."
"For anyone that has seen him play, they know that Rip Carson's stage presence is one of the wildest in history. Rip Carson accounts for this by saying '...man when I hear the music it makes me insane, it is the original devils music. It is just as savage and shocking as it was when it was first introduced.'"
Rip Carson will be performing at The Lafayette on the following dates:
